The twenty-four elders are witness to the voice of many angels that say the Lamb is worthy to receive power, wealth, wisdom, might, honor, glory, and blessing.
11 Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all therein, saying, “To him who sits upon the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might for ever and ever!” 14 And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped.Rev. 5:11-14
John has just been told that the sealed scroll can only be open by the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. However when he looks he may have been confused maybe even dishearten as only a Lamb is standing there. But the old priest would quickly have understood as the Lamb took the scroll, and everything this heavenly scene begins to sing the praises of the Lamb.
The Lamb’s worthiness comes from having been slain. He has paid the price once for all. [Heb. 10:10 ] Because of this sacrifice He and only He can receive the scroll from the hand of God, and only He can reveal the contents of this scroll.
