This star’s name is which means a poisonous root. Wormwood is always figuratively used in the Bible. It refers to bitter things and perverted justice.
Wormwood is the result of idolatry.
O you who turn justice to wormwood, and cast down righteousness to the earth! Am 5:7

False religion is always represent by a loose woman. This falling wormwood heralds the coming to power of false faith. There is noting more bitter than those who lead the people to destruction. Jeremiah speaks of his great bitterness that the people would not listen to him, and escape from the judgment that come upon them for their prostituted faith.
